Hello i am new here and have just bought my first Harley 2006 Road Glide. I rode prior a 2004 VTX 1300..My road glide came with one of those short 6 inch windshields and i rode the other day and could not even hear the radio..this being said i am six foot four and need to know what height winshield i need to buy so i can hear the radio that i paid for ..thanks for the help and I LOVE the HARLEY and cant fogure out why i didnt buy one sooner
I also had a short smoked one that mine came with and it is great for summer, but I also towered over it a 6'2" and ordered another(dealer paid for it) the 12" windsheild
worked good for cooler times!
...... i'm 6'2 & had an issue w/ hearing the stereo @ highway speed also. Picked up a flamed Harley shield on eBay. It's taller (15 or 16") than the stock RG touring shield, and looks good both coming & going.
+1 on Sonar Chris's post. That's mine on the first page CV Lg. +2. I'm 6'1 and can look over the shiled by 2-3". The recurve at the top makes it act like it's 2" taller. One of the best mods I had done.
Finding just the right windshield for your RG can be hard. I'm only 5' 10" the best fit and function for me was the Clearview GT small. I still want another shield for the summer when I just want the bike to look cool and don't need much protection.
Bought my shield of 'flea-bay' from BikersDelight........
8" darksmoked works perfect for me and my riding style. we can talk
back and forth, listen to the music, and also hear the rumble of
the Rush exhaust.....
i also bought a bikerdelight windshield sunday and it is a 10 inch shield. i am hoping the 10 will be all i need, but got worried it may not..groupw i really like the one you have with the flames on it i may look thru ebay for one,
