I also wonder how many "non heel shifter" folks adjusted theirs before removing it? I know when I rode my Street Glide home the rear shift lever must have been 3 inches off the boards. Felt like a ballet dancer I had to lift my heel so far off the board to engage it! I moved it down a few teeth, along with the toe shift lever, and it's been sweet and easy shiftin' ever since... Just sayin'...

I rode my first 30 years without one! Took me all of 10 minutes of the test ride on my 97 Ultra to realize what I had been missing. Wouldn't want to do without one now!

I removed my heal shifter a long time ago..............so much better shifting with just the toe shifter. And more foot room to move around and be comfortable.

I had one on another bike and didn't use it. So when i got the FLTR i had the dealer take it off and put it in the bag.

FWIW, The Fatboy and Heritage Classic (softails) also have heel shifters

Took the rear shifter off my '08 RK after a year, traded in on a 2010 Limited, had them take off the rear shifter before I took it home. Like the way the bike looks without it, and like the room.

I only have about 90 miles on my '10 SG. I have remembered it about 50% of the shifts I would guess. I do think I need to tweak it a notch or two, it seems high for me. I will keep it for now, and if down the road I don't seem to use it. It may come off.. who knows.
