What's the best vinyl film out there? I got some cheap stuff online and it's worthless. Wouldn't stick. Lots and lots of creases.
Is 3M the best way to go?
Crabio, beautiful Smokey Gold bike, I sure miss my old one.
I have used a couple different ones. 3M is awesome and the other I got on Ebay, it was a yellow and thick protective film for headlights. We have a pair I did back in 2006 still on my Dads Heritage and still looks good.
I remove the light and clean very well. I use a partner and we hold the film tight and stretch it on the light, any issues we use a heat gun.
Some stuff I got a while ago advised a mixture of alcohol and soap and a squeegee. Both worked out good. I did screw up a few times but always bought plenty.
Keep at it ! You may also take it to a local shop for help.??
If I had known about the lens overlay kit by Cee Bailey, I think I would have at least considered them.......
I picked up a set of plug and play 4415A sealed beams....I don't remember what brand....and I am extremely happywith the results.
Many other riders ask me about them and a lot of cagers comment as well. My Spidey senses don't tingle quite as much as it used too......

Is 3M the best way to go?
Once the 3M is on there, no turning back. Mine has stayed clear and absorbs most stones. If nothing is perfect, the 3M "Bumper tape" comes close.... sticky, easy to work with and mine came in a 6" width....
Went with the Light Armor - Harley Running Light Armor-Yellow from Cee Bailey's.
These are so nice. The only thing that's a little odd about them is the way they attach but from 3 feet away you can't tell. You can see the dots in the second picture.
Love the look. And just a few bucks more than the 3M film I was looking into.
I bought a pair of GE amber lamps off of ebay. 35W I think. The guy throws in two gender-bender adapters so that you don't have to cut any wires, or make your own. Plug and play.

I ended up just buying a couple of Wagner 4415A bulbs off Amazon for about $10 each and popped them in. I made my own wire adapters that plugged into the existing plugs so they can be removed if I got sick of them. I dig them!!
