Default Is there a safe engine cleaner?

I'd like to degrease the bottom of the engine and clean some of the crud off the electrical wires. Is there a safe cleaner I can spray on the entire engine area? Thanks.

BIKE BRITE works great. Will degrease engine, but is not caustsssssic, so it does not damage paint. Use it on a cold bike and hose it completely clean two minutes later.

I've been useing 50% cut simple green. I'm useing the regular stuff now, but a year or two ago I was able to buy a heavy duty at A&A auto. Same price.
Not on a hot engine. Cool engine, out of the sun, leave on 1-2 minutes wash off. If your grimed up it may take a couple of cleanings.

That's what I use. I buy that stuff by the gallon case and use it for a lot of cleaning projects.

Can't you damage your paint using that stuff?

+1. That's what I use on my engine, wheels, rotors, calipers and chrome. Spray, let soak for a couple of minutes and rinse. It does an excellent job.
Once the engine is clean, I spray Pig Snot or Pig Spit works great on black parts.

Simple Green sounds like something I need to try. I've been using Bike Brite then S100 engine brightner after.

+1 on Simple Green cut, 50/50 and change depending on how bad the grease is, I also use Purple Power with good results.

I swear S100 is just another Simple Green solution.
