I bought the Classic. Didn't want any of the Ultra stuff except the lights, and I wasn't going to spend almost $2,000 more just to get the lights. I can always add lights for a lot less $$ down the road.

Get the Ultra and be done with it! I've had 1 Classic and 3 Ultras. When I finally find something that works, I stick with it.

I also thought the EGC was all I needed then found my self adding to the bike after a few long trips, so I went to the Ultra and now have all I need. Better to get the full package now then want for it later. Ride safe

I went with the Classic. If you ride two up there are definite advantages to the Ultra. I looked at the differneces and for $2000 it didn't move me. I preferred to get more engine (103), ABS, and I have since added the lower fairings. The Ultra will give you more on sale or trade later on then anything you add to a Classic. That said i am very pleased with my purchase.

Ultra would be my vote; with all it offers you'll love it.

I'm biased too, but I have to agree with many here and say go Ultra. I honestly thought I would be taking a bunch of stuff off mine when I got it, but that hasn't been the case for me. Very happy with my Ultra.

If you want the Cruise, lowers, CB and extra speakers get the Ultra...

I just finished my conversion from Classic to Ultra by adding the lowers and Cruise. Added the lights and everything else over the last couple of years.

As Far as the lights, I think they add a good bit of safety to the bike, even modded the tourpak side lights and trunk lights to act as turn signals along with adding the extra run/brake to the airwing luggage rack. Anything to help be seen by the cagers other than painting the bike Fluorescent orange or green ;-)

As far as I'm concerned, the more lights the better. This time of year, I leave for work in the dark and get home in the dark. I WANT to be seen!

And the cruise control is an option I didn't even think about beforehand. Now, I don't know what I'd do without it!

Used the intercom for the first time last Sunday. My wife is an inexperienced passenger, and it came in very handy. When you get the VOX set just right, it works great.

Ultra I say...unless you want to upgrade and get the Limited!!

I went through the same dilemma. I finally asked the dealer to set the bikes side by side for me to look at. For me, the Ultra looked like it was just too much. The lowers and rear speakers just made it look like it was over kill. I bought the 2010 EGC in Vivid Black. I think the Classic is sportier looking than the Ultra. My EGC already had cruise and ABS added at the factory and I bought it under MSRP. I agree about the extra lighting on the tour pak is a good idea but thats an easy add. Good luck in your decision, you just have to decide if you need the extra's.
