I had Progressive 412's on my 2005 FXDI and was very happy with them.
I don't find the shocks on my FLHX too bad except over frost heaves where they can be a litlle harsh. I'm going to try heavier oil in the stock shocks next. If that doesn't work I'll probably go with a set of 412's off of Ebay for $225. I had been considering Ohlins but after seeing the problems a forum member had with his and the fact that they are around $600 I think I'll look at other options first.
"I" think your reading waaaayyyy to much into the quote marks.
Don't know why the quote marks on Shocks however if I spend 500-700 bucks on a pair of Ohlins, I want to be able to tell a HUGE difference in my ride....Thanks to all for the input...
A very good buddy recently purchased the less expensive Ohlins......very stiff (too stiff) for his RG. He has been fussing with them for a few weeks, so the jury is still out.
just had a set of progressive touring shocks installed on my 09 sg upstate new york havent had a chance to try them yet 699 installed they better work or somebody will be removing them from there ***

I have Progressive 440s on my 09RKPolice and I'm happy. Maybe not as top shelf as Ohlins, but they do the job for me. The key is to ride a rode that the stock shockers failed on and notice the difference. (This of course applies to any shock come to think of it.)
