I just bought a used Harley backrest with hardware for an '09 touring bike off eBay. I assume it won't arrive with instructions. This isn't the adjustable backrest with the hydraulic or gas type piston for adjustment, it's the regular non-adjustable backrest.
If someone has a copy of instructions they could Email to me or a .pdf file I could download, or any installation advice I will greatly appreciate it.
I've read several dozen threads on the subject and the vast majority are for the adjustable backrest and the few on the non-adjustable aren't clear about how to install one with the '09 hardware.
I'll post the eBay pictures of what I'm getting. I hope to install this on an "09 Ultra Classic.

It's a simple install Hognot, Have you had your seat off yet? If not, look behind your seat in front of your tourpak and you'll see a Philips head screw with a spider washer on it. Take that screw out and slide your seat rearward. Be careful and cover the rear mounting bracket where you removed the screw with your hand. that way you will avoid sctatching your tourpak when you lift it up. You will see two 5/16 studs with nuts on them on the fender behind your battery box. That's where the brass looking bracket with about four holes in each side mounts. I don't know how tall you are, I'm six foot, I mounted mine in the second set of holes from the back. The black bracket that has the foot with two bolts mount to the cross frame at the rear of the battery box. I don't think you will have to remove the battery to get the nut's on under the cross member. It's tight, but on my 09 EGC, I didn't have to remove the battery. I did when I put it on my 08 I have now. I'll go out and see if I can find my instructions. If I can I'll PM you and email them to you.

Thanks, I've got the .pdf file now. I'm 6'3" and will probably have to experiment with those holes. Thanks for the walk through, it will be very helpful.
