Roadking is the most bike for your $.But buy what you like, all very nice machines.
I wouldn't necessarily say that personally. For another $750 more (MSRP) for the Classic, you get the full fairing, stereo, extra gauges, plus the tour pak!
The best bang for your buck as far as touring bikes is still the EG Standard, hands down! It's cheaper than a Road King and has more options!
A friend and I rented both a Street Glide and Electra Glide Classic together, and each of us put 150 miles on each one, both highway and backroad miles. They have unique handling characteristics. The SG seems to hug the road closer, with a little stiffer ride due the the low profile shocks. The EGC seems to handle the bumps better and seemed more effortless to ride in comparison.
In the end, I decided to get the EGC and make the tourpack convertible, and am adding a detachable backrest and luggage rack to it. I can then switch them out at will.
I think they are both great bikes and you cannot really go wrong with either one. But I would not assume they ride the same, because they do not. I would strongly recommend renting one and putting some miles on each to decide, versus a test ride around the block.
Well thank you everyone who replied. My dad owns a EGclassic with all the bells and whisles. Its great for him, but i like the way the SG looks much better and sits alot lower for me. Thanks again for all of your replys. Safe riding out there..
