Buyer beware. I ordered a radio cover well over a week ago from biketronics. Today like 9 days later I receive it and the cover is fine. The shipping and "HANDLING" charges were just about half of what the cover cost! First and last time they'll get my business. I have no problems paying fair and reasonable costs but this is ridiculous. Just sharing for those considering a purchase, just make SURE you know what you'll be charged. NOTHING on their site to order, you've got to call them and NO, I didn't ask so that is MY bad.
Shipping costs spiked 12-18 months ago when diesel went up to over $4/ga. Funny how it never goes down when the fuel cost did. I had a similar issue with Goodson last week re: compression releases. The web site showed $15.84 to ship two little CR's 140 miles from Mn > Wi. That's basically like shipping two tubes of chapstick as far as packaging is concerned. I shot off an email re: this and they repiled they could do it for $7.00 That's more reasonable. Was it insured? It realistically cost $5 to put in a padded envelope and mail w/out insurance. That's why it can be a PIA to mail order inexpensive items ...
Honestly it's only bout $5 in "handling" fees so not worth my time to sit and haggle over it... shipping is shipping and I understand that and they also sent it priority and took uh... well, too long but I know there's been snow etc. What pisses me off is the pure BS charges which is simply profit. It's akin to the "admin fees" when you look at a car on the lot and I'll be damned if I'd ever pay those. I've walked from more lots than one when I had cash in hand to buy. This isn't about the money, it's about ethics more than anything.
