Hey Delta, check this out. Something I came up with the other day. I will get you a part number later if you are interested in it. It's a K&N piece. I lost this thread somehow, so send me a PM as well.
I have a 2009 Screaming Eagle Road Glide with the Power Pacc. I've put about 12000k since I got it. I take the filter off about every 5000 miles and wipe off a small amount of oil. No oil has ever dripped on the engine. I put 6500 miles on one trip last year without touching the air filter. The engine response is great. I added the Power Pacc and the Bub 7's at the same time. Gained 15 hp over stock. I'm very happy with the results.
Hey Noz, that looks great. All I've done to mine so far is to change the hose fitting size to 1/4" so I would use a vacuum hose to route to the bottom of the bike. I was going to try and catch the blow by in a small container to see how much I get. It used to be terrible and pool up at the base of the push rods when parked. Please post the part number when you find it and close up pics of the K&N filter if possible.
I had my local autozone order it, had it the next day. $22 bucks I think it was.
I am at work now so it will be tomorrow before I can take more pics. This may not be the best looking solution, but I don't have hoses running all over the bike either. I called Tim about this setup the other day and asked about running a hose then the filter, he asked how long.........not sure how much it matters but he made it sound like the shorter the better, and obviously this is as short as one can get.
I have been noticing blow-by, BUT I am also doing v-tunes on my TTS and have been running the motor hard and at high revs.
If you changed fitting sizes over what Tim sent with the kit, make sure you get the correct breather with the right ID of the rubber boot. The one I bought is 5/16 and that is as small as they make it I believe.
