Default Strapping my FLHX

Am heading to bike week soon w/ a buddy. Gonna need to strap down the bike inside my buddy's toy-hauler.

I don't need to buy the choke as he has one already for me to use. My question is where on the bike do i put the straps so that i don't damage the bike or paint in any way but still ensure that the bike won't come loose. Also, r there specific straps I should use? My lack of experience in trailering is the reason for this post. Thanks for the help....

My response doesn't help, but......

My buddy is an OTR truck driver.
We're going to Daytona next week.
He calls me today from Destination Daytona.

It's 70 DEGREES today!!!

Back to your thread.....

I'd do the 2 in front to the engine guard and 2 in back to the swing arm. Haven't trailered a bike in many years but that's how I got my Road King from Phoenix to Portland with no problems.

Be careful strapping from the handlebars. Last year I used the choke strap around the handle bars and when we got to our destination the handle bars had been pulled down towrds the tank.
This year I am strapping around the fork above were the fender attaches to the forks. This will allow the suspension to travel freely as you ride down the road.
I also place straps around the passenger floorboards and pull the rear down as well.

I've used a canyon dancer for years. Attach two straps to that and then one strap to the rear to make sure it doesn't dance around. Done it that way plenty of times without any problems.

I've used a canyon dancer on my R1 with good results. When I've hauled my Ultra, I strapped the front with a soft strap around the forks above the fender or on the lower triple clamp. Soft straps keep the hooks from scratching your paint. For the rear, I strap down using the passenger floorboard brackets.
