Jay Congrats on the new wheels.Sure looks like a purdy ride.I love my ultra and here in Maine were looking at an early spring.(ya right)Plans are for a ride to Nova Scotia in July.Hope to put a lot of miles on this year.Good luck and happy trails.
One thing I've notice about my '09 Ultra Classic is that the front-end seems to take more of a dive with the slightest application of the front brakes. I thought the new models had an anti-dive on them. Obviously not huh?

Have the same problem myself. Was told to replace with stiffer oil to prevent this.
I picked up my 09 Ultra from one of the local dealers rental fleet. The bike had 7000 miles, but since it was inspected after each rental, and had regular service, it seemed like a good deal. Looked it over, and could not find a single flaw or scratch. Since getting it in November, have had no issue, and loving the ride.
I got back into riding after almost 30 years out of the saddle with a 06 Sportster...talk about going from one extreme to the other! During my 18 months on the Sporty, I put a little over 6000 miles on it, and came to the conclusion (rather quickly) that it was not the best choice for longer trips.
You have impeccable taste Jay. hehe. You will like the 09 over the 08, sits a little higher but the ride is much more stable for when we head into one of 5 turns in our state hehe. I think you got a great deal.
Yep, sits a pinch higher. But with the newer "low" seat recently introduced as standard equipment, he'll have an alternative should he need it. I think he's toying with us, perhaps the bike has only 62.2 miles on it and he PhotoShopped it. Just looks too new!
Seriously, congrats on the new ride and don't forget to post pics of all the goodies you wind up with after they're installed. Bet it looks sweet.
