2010 Road Glide...Wobble @ 40 mph???
I pick up the Glide this weekend, if they did nothing, I ll comply with the 2009 SB and do it my self, like I ve done on my other two HDs.
Thanks again.

I know this post you have here is old. But, todays date is 21 FEB 2012. I am buying a left over 2011 road glide ultra(30 miles on it). I took it for a test ride, about 30-40 mph, I took my hands off to tighten up my gloves and it wobbled like all hell. I finished the test ride and took it back. I am buying it, but I have asked the dealer to tighten the neck bearing, I even gave them a copy of the service bulletin from 2009. I am waiting to hear from the service manager. He is contacting the service rep. Hmmmm. we'll see. I ve researched the hell out of this issue. There are manufactures out there that sell stabilizers, there are a ton of sad stories about deaths, suspected from the wobble etc..lawsuits against harley etc...
Bottom line, if they dont tighten the neck bearing, I will. I see from alot posts, yours included, that the adjustment of the neck bearing corrected the issue. My 06 FLSTFI did the same wobble, and the corrective action was adjustment of neck bearing. Same on my 95 FLH, access is much harder, but post adjustment/tighten, wobble goes away. Also, some out there claim the swing arm bushings in relation to transmission mount are also the cause, and installation of a Pro-Glide kit, eliminates the wobble.
Either way, your issue was not non-sense, and any one that thought it was is a ****ing idiot. I found over the years there are alot out there that are instant bikers, and really know nothing about riding. A large bank loan and some brand new leathers equals a no nothing dangerous *** hole, I have to avoid while I am out riding! Take care, ride safe.

Thank you so much for the well-spoken post...Are you going to Daytona Bike Week? We need to raise a glass...

Hey NoCoLoco....is that you in the starring role as the "Stand Up Kinda Biker"?
I am the original poster on this feed...Some people (if you've read back), have been a**holes about it...Others, like yourself, have genuinely wanted info...So, with that in mind, here is a link to the Harley TSB on this issue:

We had a rider go down this past weekend from the wobble you speak of. I witnessed the entire incident two bikes in back of him. He was severly injured and careflighted to the hospital. He will never be the same. It's a shame this issue is not being addressed like it should. I do not understand anyone saying wobble is normal, just because it happens, nor do I understand why anyone would say "screw it, just ride". It a major hazard.
I am interested in the reply you recieved from Harley with a new set of fork loading specs. Is there a service bulletin associated with it? Would you have the service bulletin number by chance? I'm doing some research into wobble and find the reply from Harley to you valuable. I appreciate your persistence amongst the pranksters here.

Sorry for the delay in the reply, but I just relocated the TSB in question...Here ya go!

Lets keep in touch, we will be in Fla. one day, hard not to run away to sunshine when we have to dwell in Arctic temps 6 months of the year, up here in the frozen Hudson Valley of Upstate New York. Until then, Ride Safe and be happy!
