As most have said... most bikes experience some form of harmonic inpact at a speed.... My most recent bike prioir to the Road Glide (a bullet proof Honda VTX) had a wobble upon decel at 35-38 mph... It worried me so much that I only rode it for another 58,000 miles in three years...
SO, first of all, 5-6 guys on another forum all said they experienced the same thing...I'm not saying I ride with no hands all over town for kicks, but try to explain why this happens at 40, EXACTLY at 40, not at 38 or 42...Yes, I've tried different gears...Doesn't matter...You wanna laugh? Go ahead...When I pay >$20,000 for a bike, I expect it to do what it's supposed to do, at ANY speed. Thanks to those of you who take this seriously...I'll be happy to post the reply/fix from the dealer...To the rest of you who wanna poke fun, take your best shot...When you ride to bar-hop, you can't possibly notice any problems...Sorry, but I thought the purpose of forums like these were to share problems, insights, information, NOT to poke fun...But if your dicks are so small you need to make fun to feel better, go ahead...I'll live...

I had the same issue on my 08 RG. I thought to myself, how do I tell a dealer that I took my hands of the handlebars......DUH. But it turned out to be he steering head bearings were out of adjustment. It took them two times to get it squared away.
I only ride no hands with the cruise set at 85 after I have been drinking alot, with no helmet on, wearing shorts and flipflops. I haven't notice a wobble lately.
You can waste yours and the dealers time if you wish.
You're not going to get anywhere with that.
Were you on the brink of needing to shift gears?
Were you lugging it?
I don't know who told you that you could ride the new style frames with no hands....kinda funny actually, because I can ride my '06 with no hands.
I don't practice this, though.
Just grab the damn bars and enjoy the day.
Why do you need to ride with no hands anyway?
You making a pot of coffee?
Did you add a tour pack? A tour pack will cause the wobble on a RG. If you added one, take it off and try going 40MPH with no hands and the wobble will be gone.
I feel your pain. I've had several bikes I could let go of the steering and it would remain stable. Not the Harley. Period. It's just the quality control. It's a dinosaur. My Dyna 09 Screaming Eagle is also guilty of same acts of instability. Neck bearings too tight it will dart, too loose it will wobble. They know it's not like more stable bikes. They don't care. Just accept it and don't put the Harley in a predicament without you fine tuning everything that could have been fine tuned during production. Other brands don't start the wobble until they have several thousand miles on them. If you have spokes wait till they start loosening up. Have fun with your bike and be glad you didn't buy a CVO and get the wobble. My chrome is peeling off the back rim too. Where's the quality? Look at Detroit!

I occasionally ride with no hands but only when I'm standing on the seat. I hear it's a better view of the road ahead too but my eyes are always closed so I can't confirm that.
