Oh yeah I don't want to charge fairing speakers either. I carefully sellect all my components. The installer told me, he has never heard a bike sound this good (including his). I did do a test fit of all my components but I didn't use the dang spacer.
He must not get out much !
My friends say the same thing about mine, but I know that they sometimes tell lies !!
My system is here. I rock a pair of the Alpine PDX 4.150's !!
Keep in mind my fairing hold 6x9s. You don't see to many of those around here. As a matter of fact I have only seen 1. It is common to see speakers in the bags though. I am running the same amp as you, but I'm currious as to why you need 2? We got the problem fixed and I will pick the bike up tomorrow. My bike sounds great.
I added a battery and it's real small so no complaints there. I am not too happy about giving up an entire saddlebag though. I might see if I can move my amp.
I need a grill that curves out 1/2 an inch but will still install from the inside.
If the grills are metal you may be able to form them.
Get a piece of wood the size of the grills. In the area where the curve is needed,carve/sand the curve in the wood.Clamp the grill to the wood around the outside edges and use a wood dowel with a radius on the end.Form the grill with the dowel and hammer.
