Default Lower outer fairing screws

Do any of you ride without the two lower ones above forks. Was just talking to a friend and says he never put them back in cause there a pain.

I put them back in, just turn the wheel from left to right when installing them and use an extension on my driver, i never have any problems

I'd say they are there for a reason. If not bolted up all the way around could cause stress cracks maybe

Seems to me that the fairing wouldn't tighten down very well without them.

As previous poster said they are there for a reason. There is only 7 fasteners holding the outer fairing on and if you leave two off that could cause stress cracks elsewhere IMHO. They really are not that hard to put back on just turn the handlebars all the way to the opposite side and use and extension. Really how often are most people under there fairing.

I have had my outer fairing off no less than 20 times and I have never found it to be a pain to install it properly and that includes the bottom to screws.

Same here. use an extension with a magnetic bit.

I use an extension with a magnetic bit too, I always put them all back in, I'd worry about cracks if I left some out.

Sounds to me like your friend is two screws short.

Your buddy has an unusually low threshold for pain if he considers it too much trouble to install those screws. I suspect his trouble is that the outer fairing is misaligned when he gets to those lower screws, or he doesn't have some relatively inexpensive tools for an easy installation of those screws, or both.
