Then you could still have a broken switch it could be crushed on the inside. I would take that Housing apart and see if you can see anything out of place use a toothpick to move the wires around and see if that changes anything just in case you pinched one and it's shorted.

Pay attention to the wires leading from that switch.

If you have a meter and know how to use it a simple Ohms test would let you know if you have a short or if the switch is working.


But the Key here is when you disconnect that end of the Bars the Brakes goes to normal function . This tells us that switching is the issue

That brake switch is easy to break. You need to remove the switch wires & check switch with a ohm meter.
