I'm aware of the running seat change on the 2010 touring models. Here is the thing. If Momma aint happy nobody is going to be happy.IMO I didn't want to fork over another grand for a seat and matching backrest but if it keeps the ranting down well ok.
Just so you know we've spent as bad as I hate to say it 8.000 dollars on beds in the last 13 years.
I haven't got to ride my new Limited but 80 miles and she has already determined she don't care for the seat. The hump thing. Told me to go get another seat to try I've looked at all the aftermarket ones Corbin,Mustang ,Russell, ect. Looked at all the seats on the H-D site. Also looking into having my seat redone. By Mean City Cycles in Apr at Thunder Beach.
I really like the looks of the Screaming Eagle Ultra seat. but haven't got a price it being heated I bet its up there. It will have to have the backrest as well.
What have you guys done to make your significant other more comfy?
I wonder about the $150 seat change on the bikes built begining in January.According to the pics the stiching is white So I don't think I could live with that.(at least on my computer) Therefore I'll have to buy another backrest anyway.
I can't imagine harley selling a seat even for a short while that is worth anything for $150.00
I also looked at the Hammock seat but it raises you up another inch so that won't work.I really don't have clue to which way to go. my previous Ultra had a good saddle no issues. Does it seem to you that the MoCo takes 1 step forward and 2 steps?
i just ordered the new harley seat from chicago harley for $123.00 and will be getting it in 2 weeks..when i get it i will give a report on it..i was going to send my seat to mean city cycle for foam and mainly to lower it 1 inch..i thought what the hell, might as well give this a chance for $136.00 compared to $300.00 to $400.00 ....chicago said if i didnt like to send it back for no charge...win/win ....

I had this problem when I bought my '06 RKC. Long story short, I tried 3 different HD seats and none of them worked for both of us. I ended up with a Mustang seat and the difference was amazing. Right now I am waiting on a '10 Ultra to be delivered and I hope like hell that the seat works for us, but if not the first thing I am going to do is order a new Mustang.

What part of his comment makes you think he got a "heated seat"?
He's talking about the seat exchange from Harley for 2010 models.
I have owned 3 of these ('03 Road King, '01 BMW K1200 RS). My friend was a fan of Mustang seats; in the opinion of his passenger the added width of the Mustang was an advantage for the passenger. I for one found it too soft for the driver and tedious on my spine. I have a 2008 Road King with a Corbin (#3) now and both my passenger and I remain conviced that it is the best product on the market. My Mustang friend now has one too and, after a few hundred miles, I think his passenger is seeing the light. The silicone leather treatment does hasten "break-in" but after application makes the seat very slick for about two weeks. I'm a solid Corbin fan.

Well....Let me just say that "complaint department" As far as seat mods and the new frame seat issues... I have done nothing yet. I had planned to get a Road Zepplin, but now that they have one for the new frame, I do not like the reduction in adjustable zones... ( 1 step fwd 2 steps back) The missuz says the 09 vibration is so much more pronounced than the 05 ( because of going from a three point engine mount to a four point I guess), she uses a small travel pillow stuffed between the seat and the tour pak to isolate/reduce the vibration to her back. And found this http://www.softbottom.net/1643653.html she got the double in black sheepskin, and really likes it. We never leave home without them, anymore.
