So far I have found in DOT 4, From Brembo wet 399*F, Amsoil wet 410*F and presuming the HD stuff until I can find otherwise 311*F. Looks like to me I / we can increase our riding safety AND have better braking by at least 100*F, for VERY minimal cost.
I am comparing wet numbers because this should be our worst case, presuming a minimum 3% water contamination. Dry is a number, however only good for sealed unopened bottles. IMO not worth comparing.
I'll tell you guys changing to a better, or Hi perf fluid looks smart to me. I cannot believe the cost will exceed $10 over the stock HD stuff.
DOT5.1 has a composition similar to that of DOT3 & DOT4 fluids and you can use it in your bike if it uses DOT3 or DOT4.
DOT5.1 is not compatible with DOT5 fluid, which is the only not compatible with any other. DOT5.1 does also have the highest boiling points, it's corrosive for painted parts and some manufacturers claim life cycles up to 10 years.

Agreed DOT 5.1 can be mixed with either 3 or 4. Motul is the only 5.1 I could find on the web. It still does not have as high of a rating as DOT 4 Amsoil 600 at 410*F wet. Interesting, very interesting.
Motul Dot 5.1 brake fluid is a long life 100% synthetic brake fluid suitable for all types of hydraulic actuated-brake and clutch systems that require DOT 5.1, DOT 4 and DOT 3 manufacturers’ brake fluid recommendations.
Particularly suitable for use with anti-lock braking systems (ABS).
Meets brake fluid specifications:
* FMVSS 116
* DOT 5.1
* NON SILICONE BASE & DOT 4 & DOT 3
* SAE J 1703
Long life brake fluid
100% synthetic brake fluid from polyglycol bases.
Dry boiling point 270 °C / 518 °F
Wet boiling point 185 °C / 365 °F

Not to come off like an ***, but why the worry? There are literally millions of bikes out there and people have ridden millions of miles with DOT 4 and DOT 5 brake fluid. I've never heard of brake failure due to boiling brake fluid except maybe, as stated earlier, someone stunt riding, parade riding with constant brake application, or SEVERE racing. Even then, with standard DOT 5 fluid I've never heard of a problem.
Is this i a bigger issue than i thought? Should I worry about my brake fluid boiling?
Where is the guy that says "You spend 20K+ on a bike and use that stock crap brake fluid"? This sounds like some really high performance brake fluid just don't see the need for it in such a low performance machine.
Do a search for ATE Super Blue!
Dry boiling point: 536 F. Wet boiling point 392 F. A lot of car guys swear by it.
If you want more firmness changing your lines with a steel braided line will probably do more for you than a different fluid.
High Performance .......... Flush/ bleed every other season or if you're OCD, every year. I won't be too late. It's a balmy 12 degree here with two ft. of snow. See you tonight. Thanks puddin pants.
