Checking the tire pressure on my '09 Ultra is a pain in the butt due to the vertical tire valve stems and the lack of clearance.
On several of my older GoldWings (sorry for the blasphamy) the valve stems were at 90' and made checking pressure soooo much easier. They had some problems with the stems breaking at high speeds if the little rubber thingie wasn't attached but the stems were rubber and that might have been the problem.
During my next tire change, I would like to install the metal 90' valve stems sold by several companies. Does anyone know why I shouldn't?
Thanks for the help....
I put my Ultra on hte J&S jack and it's much easier to check the tire pressures. I too was thinking about the 90' stem until I used the jack method. I'm storing the bike on the lift during the cooler weather so it's easy to check the tires before I lower the jack.
