I was told that my Peace officer as well as the Fireman bikes are CVO colors?
I CAN get both of those in quarts w/activator form the MOCO.
The Peace Officer Blues (light and dark) are not a problem; they are listed in HD's Paint Book as p/n's 98609LO (dark blue) and 98609LQ (light blue) and use the same urethane activator as other OEM colors. The "Paint Book" used to be a paper catalog that included p/n's for painted parts (usually to order painted parts to repair damaged bikes) with a section for sprayable and touch-up colors in the back of the book. In 2007, HD went to a paperless catalog that dealers access via HD's intranet. The paper "Paint Books" show-up on Ebay from time to time. Bascially, the Peace Officer colors are not a CVO or Custom color; just a stock color on a bike that only LEO's can buy new from an HD dealer.
I saw your earlier thread about your source for buying CVO colors in quart quantities through an HD dealer. I'm not calling BS; only saying there isn't a p/n for the CVO paint in aerosol or quart quantities that would be generally available to an HD dealer.

I'm aware of how the bikes are obtained, I got it from my father who is a retired LEO.
I never said it didn't have a color number, I have the touch-up kit.
I didn't say it was available in an aerosol, and I didn't say it was readily available in quarts with a MOCO p/n. If it was easily obtained then any painter could replicate the MOCO paint jobs making it easier for people to piece together CVO Clones.
However, I can get the paint through a dealer from another EPA friendly out of state dealer...believe it or not.
It could be possible that he's NOT getting it from the factory, but I was lead to believe (although via another dealer) the source was in fact the factory. I haven't talked to him about the paint since last October, I'll get more details and put this to rest.

Hey, I wasn't trying to get into an argument about what you said or didn't say. What I posted was that Peace Officer blue is a readily available color in aerosol and quarts like any other HD stock color. CVO colors are not generally available; no p/n is listed in the Paint Book for them in sprayable form, though they are available in touch-up colors.
And I agree with your that HD probably doesn't make the CVO colors avaialbe in sprayable form to prevent clones.
If your buddy has a way to get CVO colors in sprayable form, great. Be sure to post the information on the cvoharley.com forum; he'll find a lot of buyers who want to color-match their CVO bike's tour paks, fairing lowers, etc. with designs that HD doesn't offer.
