Not sure how long you have had your 03 Ultra...but from what I remember, those are the first year CD players and they had skipping issues. As Gliden suggested...try cleaning it.
Depending how important is it to have working CD player...just switch to using an Ipod/MP3 player.
My `07 EGC has the same problem.Stealer pulled it while it was in
warranty & sent it to the factory. They could find nothing wrong
with it. Went to a good mp3,problem solved.
