OK, I like others was having a problem with very slow and erratic operation of this website with IE, and Mozilla Firefox....
I just downloaded Google Chrome,, and man. It works great! Much smoother and less erratic! I mean, when I used to type, it would actually be two or three words behind on the screen! It scrolled terribly slow and jerky.
THIS BROWSER ROCKS!
I just started trying out Chrome and it's been hit or miss with some sites. I don't think all sites are supporting it yet or it just doesn't know how to display some sites. Other than that, the ones that do work are pretty quick to load.
I don't have any complaints about Firefox on any other sites,, except this one it is slower than heck,,, so if I have difficulty with GC on any other site, no problem, Hell if I JUST use it here I am thrilled! (on my laptop anyway,, my desktop works at home fine with FF)
Just wanted to help if I could!
Just make sure you Clear your History every few days. If not it Will steal and fill up all your Virtual Memory real fast .
Google is a Hog of a Tracker and loves to store crap and it stores it on your HHD.
I use it for my E-bay and Forums I keep open all the Time , I use FireFox for my web-site/ FaceBook & TWitter and then use a MSN one for all my E-mail accounts. So i have Normally 3 browsers with w a total of about 11 Tabs running all the Time with no issues.

Ok,, good to know. Is it used for tracking by Google? Or what? Why would it store so much crap?

I have no idea , they just like to track and save crap. I know it helps reload the pages faster but I had like 4 or 5 gb of crap as I run a very Thin C drive and couldn't tell what was hogging it down. now that i know I just delete every few days. I like that Firefox does all that for you when you shut it down.
I was going to ask the question below but then realized I have Chrome on this PC and could see all the ad's with it.
What about all the ad's. Firefox + Ad Block Plus eliminates them. Does Google Chrome?
Will Ad Block work with Chrome?
Also, for whatever reason, Chrome is much slower on my system than Firefox using this forum. I hear people complaining about the speed of this forum all the time but I rarely have an issue and I'm just using standard cable internet. Nothing super fast.
