The screws can be a pain, especially with the Clark Custom windshield because it's not curved.Mine didn't want to line up either the first time,I've also got a fairing bra and the chrome strip. What I ended up doing was backing off the 4 other fairing screws a little so the outer fairing moves around a little more, lined right up.Don't force anything or cross thread the screw.it'll go.If you did happen to mess the thread up a run a 1/4 by 20 tap through it.

2 more at the bottom, just off the fork tubes,You might need a flash light to see them, but they're there. You'll find out the first time you take your outer fairing off those bottom 2 can be a pain to put back in.I always get them all started before tightening them down.

nope you can't screw it up. The other 2 screws are at the lower triple tree. Lowest part of the farring. You'll need to swing front end left and right to get to them. Right for the left one left for the right one.

NOTE: IF YOU DID BOOGGER UP THE THREADS ON THAT CENTER SCREW A BOTTOMING TAP WILL CLEAN IT UP.

What I did was poke a smaller phillips into the hole and find the threaded hole, centered it up by wiggling the screwdriver and bolt matched right up.

When those are started correctly, go back tighten the center, then the outer 2, then back to the other 4 you loosened up. Give that a try. What do you have to loose?

I agree with this. When I got my new Street Glide I put a new Klockworks shield on. I also put on the chrome trim under the shield. I couldn't get the center screw back in. I took it to my dealer who helped me out. He loosened up the inner and outer fairing screws, got the center screw to fit right, then tightened up the rest. Take your time, It'll go.

You do have the windshield pushed down enough into the fairing, right?
I'm using a Clark's Shield with the side extensions and found that I have to push the center of it down after I get the two sides started.
Plus I keep all fairing screws loose until they are all started.

I changed out the windshield last year with no issues. BUT I got the fairing off right now for a speaker/fairing mount swap.....this better not be a jinx!

I'll try pushing the center down next time I give it a go, mine is also the Clark's Shield. When you say keep all fairing screws loose do you mean "all", four on inside fairing, and three on outside? I'm going to call my dealer tomorrow and see if I can bring the bike in and have him show me exactly how to deal with this. I've only had this bike for three or four weeks now and I don't want to get impatient and do something stupid.
