i know this has been talked about numerous times but i want to see if anyone can agree on what i am feeling. the bike seems smooth through all the gears, but at 70 mph only 70 the the whole bike seems a little vibration, its not bad at all. kind of like a light foot massage, but its just bad enough to make me accelerate to about 74 + to smooth it out. now i have heard about motor mounts and tire balance, and exhaust. i have rineharts and have checked everything in and out. no problems there . i cant recall how long its been there cause i just ride it, and you dont really start noticing stuff until you get on these forums, and find out you have a problem. it puzzles me cause if it was a tire or motor mount wouldnt i feel it all the time? through all gears? i dont know but would like to find out since 70 is a good cruizing speed.
Possible tire balance--you could acel or decel out of the vibration it could be the tire, probally front?
GOODLUCK
TOOLBOX--also make sure all your aftermarket mounting of exhaust is ok/etc.
oh yah....What kinda bike is it? Have spoke rims? A Dresser with possible front fairing brakets broke internally???
Just thought ide throw that your way too.

my bike is a baby. its an 06 with about 3000 miles on it. oh yea spoked wheels. is there still the possibility that my tire is unbalanced. i do remember hitting a really good size bump awhile back, knocked me and the bike a little loose but it wasnt a huge bump or anything. ill tell you if that bike cant take a little bump here and there then thats rediculous. oh well do you think it could be a motor mount still? i would think it would be more noticeable if it was a mount. i should have waited on 07s. its redicuulous how much we pay for these 06s and the problems they have straight of the rack.
Just when in those 3000 miles did you first notice the vibration starting? If it was within the last 500 miles, I would bet that a motor mount bolt has loosened up. Re-torque all of the motor mount bolts. Get the front tire/wheel rebalanced (always worth a shot). Have the fork triple-crown checked for proper fall-away (proper tension on bearings). And last thing I can think of; raise the bike on a lift and slowly rotate the front and rear (especially the rear) tire looking for a slight flat spot on a tread. ................. BC
I have noticed a slight vibration at 70 mph in 5th gear also on my 06 street glide. At first I looked down and saw the lower part of my jeans from about my calf to the heal of my boot just flapping like crazy in the breeze and attribuited that to what I was feeling but the vibration seemed to go away above or below 70mph. I have only 600 miles on the bike. Like you said its not too bad and it feels like a foot massage. Now that I know I'm not just imagining this I will have to look into it further. If I discover the cause I will post back, you do the same ok, thanks....................BG
Hey all, It could be a engine mount--I bought my wife a 06 street bob & with in 2500 miles of new it developed a bad vibration--really noticed it in decel--could make vibration go away by just bairly rolling throttle on---hade stealership replace the front mount & it made a world of differnece---I checked bike out prior to bringing it to delaer & found rear mount bolt slightly loose----Ended up replacing both mounts under warranty---FIXED!!!!!!

o.k after making sure everything was right on my exhaust, i took her out tonight all night and studied her. i dont have a tach but i can feel the vibe between gears , so im assuming its at a very distinct rpm. it only happens if you stay at that rpm. it is very brief, goes away if you decel or accel the slightest bit. im no wrench at all so i cannot fix motor mounts, but something tellls me it might be in the spark plug since it is at a distinct rpm. i will change the plugs tomorrow and if that doesnt do her ill take her in the shop to have the mechanic diagnos. if they so much as try and tell me its normal. i will look into trading her in for an 07 immediatly. this bike is reallly getting to me. i love everything about her accept all these damn service bulletins and petty sh!$. i payed too much money for to stess on something like this.
I have an 06 Road King Classic. 1700 miles on her. I also notice a little vibration right at 68-70 mph. Its not so much a vibration, I would describe it more like a resonance, or a harmonic.
Asked my Tech about it, and he went thru everything, found no problems. Its just from 68 to 70 MPH, and the ol'lady DIGS it!
Shes constantly asking me to cruise at 69 hahaha
I wouldnt worry about it to much, unless it is really bad, or your getting some shimmy or something. I think its just a resonant frequency of everything right in that 68-70 mph range.
