Default cruise problem

If my bike had to accelerate alot with cruise sat it will keep accelerating. The only way i have found to get it to stop is to twist the throttle backwards. And then it will be fine. Any ideas of what could be causing this???

Thanks
Kelly

Default RE: cruise problem

There is a spring on each side of the set/accel/decel switch. The decel spring is broken, forcing it to accelerate and not set. It's a very easy fix by the dealer.......happened to me on a road trip, and fortunately, Cajun HD in Lafayette, LA had the part and got on it. Repaired in less than an hour.

Agree w/ mr wonderful----I had a buddys 02 roadking cruise go nuts on a roadtrip we were on--I fixed it at the next rest stop, just took the swithc apart---streched what was left of the spring out to get him back home---worked good --I do think he ended up replacing springs-------Good luck on the problem
