Dyno Needed
Couple questions. I have read a lot of good threads about opinions on slip-ons. Besides youtube, does anybody have a good resource site for listening to differnet pipes on an ultra classic? Then also, do you have to get a new air clearner and a power commander or some time of fuel mapper, and get the bike dyno'ed after? I would imagine best case you would want to, but I am wondering if it is absolutely needed? What can a guy expect to pay for all being done?
You don't have to do any of that stuff, if you just want slip ons. A lot of people do it because they want their bikes to run better than the factory tune, but you don't HAVE to just for slip ons.
The place I have gotten the best chance to hear different pipes was Sturgis. Anyplace that has a gathering of bikes is a place to get your best info, IMO.
I just can't tell enough from hearing you-tube videos.

No you don't have to get a high-flow air filter or the rest. Having said that there are some slip-ons where a re-map is recommended. I know there are a lot of opinions on this...but there are some slip-ons where the manufacturer recommends a re-map, just as there are some who advertise "No Re-map" needed. I would make sure and do the research.
What you are talking about...with the slip-ons, high flow air and race tuner of some sort is a stage one...and prices vary. I got a pretty good deal on mine...SERT, High-flow air filter and dyno'ed for 750 out the door.
Again..do the research to be sure. Just sayin.
