Default Plug wires and plugs changed - change to engine performance?

While I was overhauling my Softail I changed to SE plugs and plug wires. My bike's EFI (2001) and running high compression pistons. The plugs I took out were the standard 6R12s that a shop had put in (I'll never go back to that shop - but that's another story). Regardless the 6R12s had been doing their job as had the stock wires.

When I took the bike out it ran fine but I got the sense that the timing was a little different and at higher rpm the bike seemed to vibrate more than I remembered (now I admit I'd just been riding the Ultra Ltd for several weeks without riding the Softail - so it could just be the difference between the two) - I'm concerned that I may have inadvertantly changed the characteristics of the bike enough to throw off some tuning parameter and that I might be doing harm to the bike to run it this way over the long term. Thoughts?

SE wires are just like doing a set of Taylor or MSD wires on a small block, better insulation to you dont get spark wander and lower resistance , so no they wont change the way the bike runs.

As far as plugs go, go back to the 6R12's NEVER seen them cause a problem. Have seen EVERY other brand of plug out there cause problems that were cured by going BACK to 6R12's

Thanks Hog-Doc. The plugs I put in are 32186-10 I think but since the 6R12s were working fine I'll switch back! Good advice as usual!!

(I'm running about 10.5:1 CR)
