At least when I crash or am left out in the desert with no power...at least I can blame myself. I sure don't like the feel of blaming others. I trust my tires to a professional whom I've seen at work. I trust my paint to someone who knows way more than myself. But simple nuts and bolts stuff like this is something I can do, and feel good about doing for myself... I know there are people out there who are just at a loss for wrenching. For them, I guess search out someone who is passionate about getting it right.

Brothers: Buy tools that you need. Like that Belt Tensioner Gauge...like a decent Torque Wrench...like a Tire Pressure Gauge...put all this stuff into a toolbox...I guarantee next time you need the tools, they'll be there...the job gets easier each time you do it. The first time I took off the tank, I had to read the Manuel...now this next time I already know how it's done...But you gotta start somewhere. Start by buying the Manuel and read it! So many questions on this forum are just plain "Dumb" questions...not because I don't understand why you want to know, but because it is right there in the Manuel.

The only problem with the Manuel is that it does not tell you everything. That is when you should come on this forum and ask "intelligent" questions. After you have already sifted through the Manuel.

I for one am tired of reading through all these "Sub-Maunel" posts that are here looking for easy answers; just so I can get to where I need to be and find out the info I need. One of the reasons it can be hard to find information on here is because it is chock full of BS. I mean posts all over the place are just useless. Dumb questions and sometimes even dumber answers by posters who themselves have not ever read the Manuel.

Who do you believe on here? Why should you believe them? Just because they've been a member since 1902? If you ride a bike, you need to be in the "KNOW" yourself to the point of being able to smell BS. You have to be able to smell it so you can avoid the TASTE OF BS. Take my word for it, if you have never tasted BS you won't like it. You can avoid the taste. Its OK to smell it...it won't hurt you...(SMELL/LISTSEN=same thing)...But the minute you taste it...(TASTE/FEEL=same thing)...you will regret the sensation. BS is something you experience as you are listening or reading something...everyone has to go thru it. But to actually taste or feel it you have to experience the true meaning of BS! Like if you took literally the meaning of BS and actually used the BS to try to get something done. BS can kill you if you are not armed with good sense.

So how do you arm yourself with good sense? By reading the blessed Manuel.
You dug up a two year old thread to tell us that you're tired of hearing about stupid redundant questions?
Wow!

Sad for sure. Maybe he was hoping that his reply was going to stay buried behind 47 pages of more current stupid stuff. I'm not ashamed to say I've asked a stupid question, maybe two on this forum.
