Thinking of dropping from the stock 12" to the 9" Memphis Shades Replacement windshield. That way I can just look over it instead of through it. Is this about as low as you want to go to keep the wind off? For those who have lowered your windshield what do you think? Just trying to get some feedback before I order and install.
I run a Fastaire 8" winsheild and love it, perfect for me and for $39 shipped it's not a bad deal, I'm on my second one in about 4yrs or so, the corner broke from all the power I guess, anyway it's some feedback for ya.
You might try cutting the stock one down an inch or so at a time till you find the height thats right for you as torso height and riding position make a lot of difference in finding the "perfect" windshield.
I ride with a 9' smoked around town and on short trips 100/200 miles but when I tour I put the stock one back on, more protection if you get caught in the rain.
Every one has different expectaions when it comes to windshields. Cutting a tall one down till it works is a great suggestion. You just need to experiment.

I have the same one and it works great. I'm 5"10" and have a badlander seat (lower).
My 9 inch fastair is fine once I got a fork deflector, but I wear a fullface helmet. Any helmet sticks up a little higher in the wind, and a Fullface seems to catch more air coming from under the fairing. I am happy with the 9 inch, but might consider a 10 inch for a long trip.
I run a 9" Clearview with recurve. I also have a tallboy seat. I'm 6' tall and am totally satisfied with the airflow and lack of buffetting from the clearview.

Either what DuraGlide said or get on Ebay and order you an 8" inexpensive one to try before you spend some big $$$$'s on something that does not work. You can always resell or keep as a back up. I have a 6" and an 8". I use both depending on the weather and temps.
