Default 1990 Ultra Classic Problem!!

I tried this in the electrical section because another forum member had the exact same problem but didn't get any responses.
I just picked up a mint 1990 FLHTCU. When I apply the front brake the radio turns off. When I release the front brake the radio comes back on. This only occurs with the front brake.
The previous owner told me about the problem before I bought the bike. He was the original owner and kept the bike beautiful. He replaced the stator and the voltage regulator thinking that it would solve the problem. It didn't. I talked to him last night and he told me he also cleaned and inspected the starter cables and grounds.
He also told me that a couple of local Harley repair shops told him that it is normal.
I just can't believe that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default not normal but???

I have 1987,1989,1990 dressers, there is a solenoid on the front end that creates an anti-dive effect. This is not activated with the rear brake. This draws a lot of power and with the marginal stock charging system the battery voltage can drop below the minimums to run the radio. Does this happen only at idle or do you get this when rpms are over 2500 also? What is your voltage when this happens?

It only happens at idle or or at low RPMs like when I am approaching a light in town. When I apply the brakes (or the blinkers) the voltmeter bounces around 10-11v.
If it is the selenoid is there any fix? Can I disconnect it to see if the problem goes away?

Since you have had so many dressers can I ask one other question? I notice static coming out of all of my speakers whether the bike is running or not or if the radio or CB are on or off.

Dont use the front brake

Could be a simple battery issue. Have you replaced the battery?

No, I didn't. I just got the bike on Saturday. Battery is a few years old. Maybe 3 years. It has always been maintained and when I put it on my battery tender it went to green within a few minutes. The thing that perplexes me is if it was the battery why would the radio shut off only when I grab the front brake.

I looked up Anti-Dive on this forum and from what I read the selenoid is activated whether the back or front brake is applied because they are both on the same circuit.
I appreciate your help on this. Its a strange problem.

Loosen the brake lever housing and see if the problem persists. You may have a pinched wire or two between the housing and the handlebars on the right hand side?

Default anti dive on front only

The anti dive solenoid works only with the front brake.I would replace the battery so that you have a good known battery.Use H.D. battery or Deka Brand for best results.Something is creating a low voltage situation and the front brake solenoid is breaking the camels back so to say.You can disconnect the solenoid but its a P.I.T.A. It is mounted near the top of the left fork tube. You may be able to see the 2 wires and can maybe dis-connect the ground wire. With the ign. switch in the on position (not running) hit the front brake and listen for a click, that would be your solenoid. It may not click because of its age it may be drawing more than normal. You may need to pull outer fairing off and set up a fan to cool engine and run in neutral. Then try to simulate problem. I believe you have a low voltage situation and not a shorted wire. Also do you have extra lights etc on this because the alternator puts out almost nothing below 2000 rpm. Check voltage at various locations for an abnormal reading. This is not an easy to diagnose issue as you already know.I get no static but will get a humming noise out of the radio on my 1987 with stock Radio ,my 1990 Ultra has had the radio replaced with a Biketronics set-up and cb etc. removed.
