Looking for some replacement floorboards for my Glide and they seem so ridiculously priced it's outrageous. I just want some simple boards to replace the stock ones, anyone have a good place to buy?
One thing I will never spend the money on is floorboards. Why they are so much $$ just makes no sense. Kinda like buying solid gold soles for your shoes. For what they charge, they must be......... You should watch the classifieds, there are guys selling their take-offs for a good price from time to time.
I like the old style, but I want something a little more different. I just seem to only find them on ebay, jp cycles, or the HD site. Arent there any other major online stores?
Check out Dennis Kirk's website....they are the world's largest aftermarket parts and accessories dealer. And no, I don't work for the company. Their customer service and UPS shipping speed are great.
The nice after market board are all pricey, I agree. I decided on Some WCC boards until I saw the price. $600? Then I decided on the Batastini boards. Same thing. Outrageous. I got some half moons off a forum member for a great deal. that will have to do for now. If you do find some you like shoot me a Pm and I'll see what kind of a deal I can get you. Drew
Keep an eye on eBay for some nice quality used ones. Seems that people are always changing themes of their bikes so the "old" tends to go cheap.
Some guy didn't title his auction well so I ended up getting the nostalgic footboard inserts, chrome/rubber grips, chrome/rubber brake pedal pad, and chrome/rubber highway pegs for $38! The inserts alone normally run $70 - $80 used. All I wanted was the footboard inserts. I already had the exact highway pegs so I didn't need them and I really didn't want the pad or grips. Now I'm going to list my nostalgic grips and the extra highway pegs.
As for why inserts are so expensive... seriously, what on a Harley isn't? I see it sort of why people envy a Harley over a Honda.
You pay all that money and the chrome bubbled up on my Kuryakyn ISO boards. The warrenty guy at bike week tells me your gonna have that. $299 FOR THE PASSENGER BOARDS ALONE!
