I agree less miles maybe see more? There is a lot of great sites to see in all those areas. Sounds like all interstate miles? I would schedule less miles and ride the back roads but that is just me.
I thought you were going to Sturgis. I started reading the route and thought, "Damn, Derek sure is going around his *** to get to his elbow'. Then I finished reading it. Good luck man. Take an extra pillow to sit on.
I agree with the other guys. Based on the miles and times shown, it must be all interstate. I would schedule less distance or more time and take all back roads. Last year, the better half and me rode 4500 miles in ten days. All back rodes never, never touched the interstate. Best trip of our lives. Remember, it is not the destination, it is the journey. Take the time and enjoy.
As much as I would love to make it a longer trip, I can't take but so much time. So much for being able to take off whenever you want, if you work for yourself. Right now, I only have a 7 day window to work with, and I like to make a "loop" when I ride. I'm not much for back tracking on a bike trip. Of course eveyones riding style is different, I'm more of an Interstate kinda guy. I live less than 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. A route that some people travel hundreds of miles to see. I absolutely hate that road. lol I get bored real quick on the back roads for some reason. Hopefuly one day when I have more time, I can plan a longer ride and maybe meet up with some of you guys on HDF.
