You really shouldn't care at all if it works for you.

Yeah, my point exactly. If it works it works. I have never tried them, but like I said, if the result of using them is a smooth ride and good tire wear, I fail to see any downside. Now if "ican" is saying you can't achieve a smooth ride and good tire wear with dyno beads, then maybe there is more to the story that we need to hear.

As for the question about if I have ever mounted and balanced a tire......yea, one or two over the years, thousand that is.
Because the little chunk of lead hammered onto the edge of the wheel is cheaper and the bean counters said NO!

I think your insight on this matter may be exactly right!

I buy my tires from an Indy motorcycle tire shop and they mainly use Dyna beads. So, I've been using them for a couple of years now in a number of tires. I'm very happy with them - they do their jobs of keeping the tire balanced and I am happy with tire wear. I'm not an engineer, I just know that I like them and will continue using them.

This is a very interesting thread.
Do you know if the dyna beads are hard on the suspension in any way or dangerous?
How about on 150+ mph sport bikes.

the dyna bead web site says not to use the beads in racing bikes
http://www.innovativebalancing.com/news.htm

It says:
Can I use Dyna Beads for motorcycle road racing?

No. The inner liner compound of motorcycle road racing tires is too soft to allow Dyna Beads to perform properly. (this does not apply to off-road motorcycle racing)

They are not recommended for car tire because they are low and wide. Most questions have answers here

Default beads

Can't feel it, can't see it, can't hear it, can't tast it, and can't smell it ; it must not exist. I agree, if you put the beads in and you are happy with what they do, then use them. With more and more states making lead weights illegal, the car, motorcycle, truck and tire manufactures are spending a lot of time trying to find a solution. Several companies make the beads, so we are aware of that option. Given a choice, I will stick with correcting run-out and physicaly reducing the imbalance to a minimum.

This is some funny $hit. Some goober comes up with a conspiricy theory against dynabeads? * *If you think about it, how many perfect products do you own and use? *For every product and positive comments about it there is someone out there that can come up with negative information which is a good thing to a certain degree. *Information is king until it gets over analyzed to the point where you do nothing but hide in the corner of your *basement eating your own boogers waiting for the end. * The only thing this needs is some dyna beads made of different meterials to really burn up the disciussion boards. I will just use them because i don't see death coming in the form of a dynabead. **
