I've got the hogtunes speakers and amp set. I didn't think they made much of a difference when I first got them but turned out it was a problem with the stereo. They sound good, plenty loud and the clarity is very good, install is fairly easy using the supplied instructions, it will take about an hour and a half or so start to finish. I would buy them again.
Asked similar question less than a week ago, Biketronics titan 6 1/2 or J&M 7 1/4? didnt get much feedback on the Biketronics, everyone seems to like the J&M 's. Ordered a set of J&M's from Dr. V Twin should have them by the weekend. I'll let ya know how they sound! This many people cant be wrong!?!? Can they?? Good luck!
IMO if you are just doing speakers and no other upgrade, it would be Hogtunes. I had J&M speakers in my last bike, I felt they were very tinny sounding, no bass whatsoever.
Just installed J&M 7.25s last weekend, Now I am not the guy that needs the very best or latest gizmo, all I wanted was decent sound at 70mph. I am very happy the J&Ms, big improvement, no plans to add an amp at this time.
Little Bear summed it up perfectly. I installed a set of 7.25" J&M about a month back. Finally got her out on the road last weekend. I am very happy with the results. I played all kinds of music and it sounded great.
Good luck, chances are you will be happy with whatever you put in there.
