The water cooled machines get hot too. It's just the way it is when you are on 2 wheels. Some people are just never happy. I don't want a radiator on my bike - ever.
Watercooled Performance Engine
It seems to me that the MoCo has reached their limit with air cooled engines and they just run too hot. I will not purchase another Harley until the extreme heat issue is a non-factor. That's my $0.02.
Amen.
Like to see a motor with liquid cooled heads in the touring frame.
I'm perfectly happy with the performance of my bikes once I got the stage 1 done.
- I'd really like to have a water cooled Ultra, batwing or fixed fairing either one.
- It'd be nice to be able to integrate an iPod and control it through the handlebar controls.
- An Ultra that has all the performance, sound and comfort items available on the screaming eagle bikes but without all the unnecessary bling.
Put all that stuff together and I'd trade for an 11 definitely!
When I bought my EGUC, I wanted a CVO but couldn't justify 38 grand to the wife, I was close, but she picked out my EGUC. I paid 18 for it. After adding another 8 in after market, I have a CVO other than the name, 110cc and the 38k. The other day I was running with a CVO and ran him into the ground. I was really surprised. At the next stop he told me he couldn't keep up and wanted to know if I had a stage III. Go figure… didn't know what to think about that. He had a stock CVO, but it sure was pretty.
I think I will keep my 08 and run it until I retire. When I retire, I'm getting a totally tricked out CVO with all the bells and whistles as a retirement gift to myself for dealing with all the trash of the world for the last thirty years….
For me to buy a 2011 Harley? It must be 2014.
(learned years ago not to buy 'new'.)
You pay the tax......and add that chrome thingy I would have put on.
To buy a 2011 my 09 would have to be wrecked or I win the lottery. As for liquid cooling, HELL ya, my nuts roasted last summer. Try ridding in 110+ degrees then put that motor between your legs.
