Thanks guys
I thought of this since I now have my 08 Ultra set
255 CAMS
Pipes
A/C
Dyno Tuned
etc......
My bike runs great, I love it, I love my 2008 Harley.
So I have no plans on getting a new bike now.
But I thought what would Harley have to do to make me say WOW, I want one of those new 20?? models.
Yeah a CVO Ultra, but having to spend $$$$$ and then have to add different cams, get it mapped, add pipes to make it go seems off base.
If you purchase a CVO, you should not have to add a thing at that price.
This is not a whats coming for 2011 thread.
I just wonder what would make you really consider, with the economy today,
to go out and trade up or purchase a new Harley.
I was just thinking what i would like to see on a new Harley;
* A redesigned batwing with a 5 to 7" color integrated GPS
* Better stereo system, seems many are upgrading anyway
* Also useable gauges on the batwing
* Some sort of vents that could push engine heat during the winter months
* More CC's of course which may mean water cooling
* Hydraulic clutch, this may be a bad thing, but I think I would like the smoothness
I sure I will think of some more things later but this was just some quick thoughts.
Thanks
If someone stole or totaled my '10, then I'd search for a leftover '09. If I couldn't find what I wanted, I'd buy a '11.
I can not think of anything that would make me want to part with my 2008 Ultra. It runs great and gets decent mpg after the following upgrades:
103 kit
255 cams
V&H True Duals & Ovals
SE High Flow intake
Dyno tuned
Yea a water cooled engine may offer more power, but I am more than happy with my current performance. Maybe I am weird, but I enjoy shifting through the gears as needed and feeling that nice vibration when stopped at a light. Also I fail to see where a water cooled engine would be any cooler, mine only hits about 230 – 240 degrees in the summer and that is about where water cooled engines runs.
The EPA to leave well enough alone, we are asking for ways to avoid the heat problems well it seems that alot of the problem deals with the government agency that almost everyone regardless of industry or profession hates.
I don't plan on buying a 2011 but I think that all HD's should have fully adjustable suspension front and rear standard. Preload, dampening, rebound, etc... I also think that the Road King and Road King Classic should have stock handlebars that don't make you feel like you have a knife in your back after 1 hour of riding.
I can't image letting go of my '10 SG. I absolutely love that bike! However my wife is making noise of letting go of her 2007 Street Bob and riding with me. A new CVO EG UC may be in my future ....in my dreams!
