My buddy just bought an '08 Street Glide. He is 6' 7" tall, and we are looking for a good set of forward controls for him to be more comfortable on the bike. Does you guys have any recommendations on good forward control units? Brands? Is it typical to move the floor boards, shifter controls, and brake pedal all forward? Or just the floor boards? Any help and/or recommendations to help my buddy get a little more comfortable on his ride would be greatly appreciated. Also, how difficult is it to install the different forward controls?
I have a 37" inseam and went with the accutronix. They are expensive but worth it if you need them. They took about 4 hours to put on, but I took my time and didn't have a jack or lift at the time. The only makers that I know of are accutronix and jaybrake. If your friend puts the accutronix on and moves the seat back about 2 inches or so, I think that he will really like the ride and reach. hope that helps
