NEED HELP! Moving backrest bracket farther back...?
Hello all - after trying multiple seats, I am happily riding my 01' Ultra using a Pro Pad Cyclopedic seat. Moved my 6'2" body into a great position. PROBLEM: the opening for the backrest is now also more rearward - I have the bracket all the way back (see pix) and it needs to go back even more for comfortable riding and so as to not stretch the seat opening... So, any great ideas on how to extend this bracket? Reverse (might change the angle) and weld on a new tab for the front support? Is there an extended bracket with more holes/adjustment available? Thanks in advance for the help!

Moving the bracket further back will cause a problem for you when you try and install the seat to the bracket. Need to cut the seat in order to install the legs of the back rest to the bracket you moved back. Good luck

Plus what davep said, I suppose you could drill a couple new holes in the fender and relocate the threaded mounting bolts.
Thanks for the suggestions & help guys - one of the great things this forum is known for!
As to the bracket interfering with the seat, the ProPad seat's opening is significantly further back, so it should be no issue when the bracket slides back.
