Yep. All of the trans to frame braces cause vibration. Some a little some a lot.
You can also get extra vibration from loose exhausts, loose shock mounts, and loose motor mounts or a combination of all three. Lots of internal engine issues can cause vibration but I would rule out the more obvious places as noted.
did you just get new front motor mount and if so did ya get stock harley mount???
Yeah, the two front mounts. Just got the stock mount, I couldn't find any other choices, Velva Ride doesn't have anything for the later year models yet from what I could tell.
what kind of job is it to replace front motor mount and would you stay stock hd thanks
I haven't done it yet, but it doesn't look like a big deal to do the front. The floorboards, kickstand, and rectifier probably need to come off. It is going to be a little difficult not having a lift table but looks doable. Need some way to hold the motor up with the mounts off, a bottle jack with a wood block will probably do. I have done most all of my mechanical stuff all my life so I am not worried about tackling it. Just need to find the time. The new mounts from Harley are $40 a piece and I got both, it usually ideal that you replace both of anything that come in pairs.
