I "mist" the dash. One time I really sprayed it down and little water marks showed up inside the radio lens. So now, I'm careful to just mist the dash enough to carry of the dust.

I need to learn more about that polymer sealant. Never heard that before!

I might be missing something here but after reviewing the comments I haven't seen a single post that says the electronics or anything else has been harmed with washing with direct, mist, rain, whatever. I call that a clue. It is an interesting post.

Light spray, not the full force, but a spray just the same. No problems so far.

I don't wash my bike often only after rain and I wash only bottom to remove road grime 'I learned after ruining my wheel bearings I even tell My HD shop not to wash after any service. Just get a bucket of water with tiny bit wax n wash and soak some Microfiber towels wipe off the whole bike by changing towels often Oh yeh and your preferred beverage is a big help.

What I do in these situations. Step dad had an Electra glide, We got some cardboard and cut out some circles to insert into the slot in front of the speaker. Once it is covered, lightly go over your dash with a hose.

...and compressed air is not necessarily the best way to dry the bike, esp around the hand controls...don't ask me how I know...B

I already received a PM asking, so might as well just post it here......givein up my secrets.

#70 Seal It by Auto Magic is what I've used for years.... http://www.automagic.biz/waxes.htm

By the way, as far as water on the dash (I really put a lot of water on there.....just not with a high pressure), be damn sure you put the little plug in the hole of your input jack before you put any water on it. Don't ask me how I know this.

But it makes playing my GPS/XM through the bike speakers rough for a few days till it drys back out.

Been washing Ultras for years. Use water all the time. Then dry off with forced air and wipe dry. Never had a problem. Dash has gotten a lot wetter sitting outside on a bike trip when a storm moves in and the wind drives water into dash that's for sure.

I'll never understand why someone (H/K, Harley, etc...) doesn't make a snap on cover for the stock Harley H/K stereo like Biketronics does for theirs. Hell, I'd pay $20 as cheap insurance to have a cover that snaps on over my stereo so I could cover it when it has to set out in a rain storm, or when I wash my bike. Just seems like cheap insurance to me.
