I know it's personal preference and to each his own, but I don't get the 2-1 look and really miss the second pipe when looking at the back of the bike. I saw the 2010 Street Glide at the local dealer the other day and I absolutely loved the look of the bike and everything they did to it...except for that single pipe....just doesn't do it for me. I understand there are performance gains, but when it comes to the appearance, you can't beat the dual pipes under the bags in my opinion.

For those with 2008 and earlier, couldn't you just take off the left side muffler, cap off the end of the pipe and put the muffler back on? Immediate 2 to 1 pipes with a dual look??!!?? This seems to easy, and I'm not an experienced 'pipes' person, so don't shoot me if it's totally stupid. Just explain why!!

Yes.......no?

I agree mja, I love everything about the 2010 except the pipes--just doesnt look right without the second pipe, thats why I changed mine and went with the BUB7 true duals, I love them, they sound awesome-unfortunately havent had much riding time with them with this damn NY weather, looks like a war zone here after all the storms we had this weekend LOL. Hoping to get out a day or 2 this week, supposed to be around 60deg the next few days.

Because of the cat equipped 2-into-1 exhaust on my bike I chose to replace the whole thing. I went with Jackpot Dyno Tuned headers and mufflers w/ competition baffles. Very happy.

True duals are a beautiful thing on a Harley,no need for the crossover. You would never notice the difference with or without the Y.

You are the first person I heard say that, other than drag racers.

I understand the sound is different. But the looks one to me is kinda funny. Many cruisers have a pipes on one side. Very cosmetic thing.

I like working on 2-1. Also like not dealing with heatshiellds, atleast on mine they don't have to come off. I got one of each. cross over does sound better, but easier not having to deal with the other pipe when working on bike.
