After the wires are run to connect to heated gear are they left open so that water/ dirt etc. can get in them that might cause corrosion or a problem if not used for a while? I am going to get 2 jacket liners and that will probably be all we will need.
I realize that my application is different, but i like the permanent controller, and always mount it in the same spot on every Road Glide that I have owned, just above the speedometer and tach.

today is my Sunday, so bear with me.
the battery lead wires have little caps attached to the wires. i use those, but still tuck the wires back into the seat when not in use... i tuck them into the backrest opening in the middle of my seat. i use two 12" extensions, that are available from gerbing, to reach the left side of the jacket. the jacket then connects to the g3 gloves.
i am very, very happy with the gerbing jacket liner and g3 gloves. i rode all winter in NYCity with just the liner over a thermal shirt. i know that is not the way it was designed to be worn, but it is that comfortable. i put a rain jacket on over it for really windy days. i rode in temps as low as 22F this year.
i will take pics of the whole setup in a little while. i will post them for you.
Thanks for everyone's input. Also I assume you would need a dual controller only if you want to run 2 pieces like a coat and pants because the gloves plug into the coat.
I have a dual controller velcroed to the tank console. The power lead comes out in front of the seat. I also have a lighted on/off toggle velcroed to the side of the console. Very easy to turn on after I am moving, and very easy to unplug and place in my pocket when dismounting. Don't know if there is anything to the "don't plug it in untill the bike is running" deal, but this is how I do it.
Not the best pic but it works great! they are out of the way and the LED is seen easy. Didnt want to spend the extra on a perm mount but 1/3 of the riding season I need heated gear and just got tired of the controller flopping around on my waist or chaps, pocket, gas tank, the exhaust the side covers LOL you get the idea. Install was slick and easy!!
Here's a little better pics. ( Thanks to cfmii11 for the original idea )
