A big wrench, strong arm and some blue lock-tite never hurt nobody.

I have the torque wrenches, I just can't remember to pick up the socket. I hate getting old.

HF just had the 1/2" torque wrench on sale for $9.95. I just love Chinese prison/slave/child labor.

It needs to be in the area of 100 Ft/Lbs you know!!!!!

Please spend the $21 at HF for their 1/2" torque wrench........
dUDE! you must have a different dealer than found in most of the USA, including Zanottis. I find it almost impossible to order or purchase most H-D sevice tools. just my real life no BS experience.

to the originator of this thread: a few months ago somebody was listing some other than MoCo stainless steel axle wrenchs with 1/2 inch drive notch for a torque wrench. I just checked the old ebay link I had, but it has timed out and no info is available. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT) They appeared to be quality tools and suitable for both shop and on the rode work and were listed for $49..

having looked at the ebay item I took the H-D stock tool kit axle wrench and with a little dremil tool and file work, cut in the required square notch to accomodate my 1/2" torque wrench. works just like the H-D tool which we can't seem to buy unless we are H-D certified technitians.

Tightening an axle nut with a big crescent wrench is not scary and I'm not a BACKYARD mechanic.

Are you guys sure about that torque value on the rear nut? I could have sworn on my '09 it wasn't that high in the manual and I recently just replaced my wheels.
