I put the disk in and hit start update. It ran for about 7-10 minutes then I heard the radio and the display said update complete. I hit eject and the disc popped out. I shut off the bike.
When I turned acc back on and held two radio buttons, then displayed the SW there are two different names. One is at 8.9 the other is still at 7.x. Did I jump the gun on ejecting the disk? Do both need to be upgraded?

It does seem louder and is working fine.
radio has to turn off and come back on twice. When the full upgrade is done it will read 8.9 only.
Give it another try....
ORIGINAL: Suburban28 If you burn the CD as an MP3 you will be able to see the song tags. Regularly burned cd's still only show the track number and not song info.
I addition you can put a ton of music on one MP3 CD. To make the MP3Cd you will need to burn it as a data disc as opposed to an audio disc. I've made four of them in the last couple of nights. Each MP3 CD has between 100 & 150 songs on it.
Ok....I am actually fairly computer-literate, but this has been kicking my ***. My current version is 7.8 so I should still be able to do this (bike build date 12/05). One thing I've noticed is that the actual file size is not equal to what is reported on HD's site. My radio will go thru (2) updates (0-100%), shut down once, then eject the CD. After about 20 seconds, it will report "wrong CD". Have tried reinserting (after it ejected) it but results are the same. Help a bro out please.
this took me a while as well. Ultimately I had to be completely sure I wrote the cd at 8X....allthe other times it did not work or only did half of it.....a real pain, hope the damn upgrade is worth it. Probably would be easier to just stop by the dealer and use their CD
