The bike: 2008 FLHTC The shield: LRS X-Stream 10 inch, medium gray Rider specs: Height 5"8", inseam 30" Helmets used: AGV half and SHOEI full face Seats used: C&C solo + pillion and Mustang 2-up
We rode from Ft. Lauderdale to Daytona Beach round trip, put approximately 720 miles in four days all with the 10" LRS X-Stream shield.
The 10" worked perfectly with my T-Bags.
Two up/SHOEI FF/Mustang seat - I95 and Turnpike at up to 95mph:
Immediately noticed major reduction in wind noise and buffeting. Windstream hits top of my helmet, no additional noise or turbulence noted. On the sides I felt wind at my shoulder edges, not bothersome at all. Wife also noted a improvement on noise and buffeting. Shield stable and firmly mounted, feels very secure. Line of sight over the shield. Two up/AGV half/C&C solo+pillion -City riding, max of 30~35 MPH:
Again, noted aerodynamic improvement. Shield is stable and firm, the shield does have the inevitable distortion at the "bend" so with the lower C&C seat I had to adjust and focus on keeping my line of sight over the shield. This actually helped my riding as I was forced to look ahead and above as we should. Not more than 20 minutes to adjust and feel comfortable with City driving conditions, again, I only noted this when changing from the Mustang 2-up seat to the C&C seat.

Sending my 9" back to LRS...the distortion is/was too much for me to handle.
Distortion? I'm confused. Should never look thru the shield anyway so what distortion? My shield is BLACK and impossible to see thru even if you wanted to. It'll cure the bad habit of looking thru fast.
We did the 7 inch xstream for the wife's Street Glide and the 8 inch for my Ultra, both are 09's.
We found that they worked about the same on both bikes. The Street Glide has the seat shaved down so you set lower. Both shields deflect the wind over my helmet and well off to the right and left side.
So far we like them a lot, they look good, I can look over them like I wanted to and they do a great job of deflecting the wind. I'm 5'11" and the wife is 5'4".
If you want to look through the shield I would say to stay with the clear only. Ours are dark but on the normal sunny days you can still see through them easy.

Trust me, they aren't going to take it back. They will only replace it with another. And another windshield gathers dust on another shelf. People need to try these out before you buy or you will be sorely dissapointed. Some vendors will let you try them out but it's usually at an event. Others claim that they would go out of business if they returned your money. Now that doesn't say much for their product, does it!

Why would you buy a windshield if you can't see through it? To get any real effective wind blocking you need to have it tall enough that you need to look through it and not just over it. Looking through the distortion of this model is not the best way to travel and especially at night. Just not safe and safety comes before "cool looking". do you paint the windshield in your car so you can stick your head out of the sunroof? How can you even say "bad habit". Ignorance must be bliss in your world with that kind of statement. I hope you don't run (literally) into me on the highway. The only one that I have seen with little distortion with this type of bend is the klockwerks shield and no, I am just running a clearview curved one.

Not true. With the propper shield you will block wind and see over. There is never a reason to look thru a shield.

+1. I'm curious though I'm 5' 10" 30" inseam and will just see over the 10" X-stream I ordered yesterday. I'm of course running a stock seat. Now I'm wondering if the 10" will work.

Hmm... in your Sig, it says you have an 8" windshield. If you can look through that while riding, ur either a midgit, or ur riding in a very awkward position. I'm 6' & have the same size & I look over it.
Wonderbob ...with the stock seat I think you'll be ok, even with my C&C which lowers me considerably the adjustment to the shield took a very short time.
