Anyone with any input on the Long Ride Shields? Thinking of the 6" in a medium tint, for a little different look than the stock clear shield that is on the E-glide.
The price looks right $35 + S/H

I hope you're under 5'6" for that 6" shield otherwise you can expect some buffeting. I'm running the 10" Recurve Long Ride Shield and it's perfect for me at 5'10".
The LRS's are a decent lower priced shield. Not as thick as a Windvest or Memphis Shades shield but still decent. It is made of acrylic though instead of the better polycarbonate so it does crack easier. Hence the lower price.
hijacked my wifes account. I'm 5'9" I have a 6" and an 8" for my '10 SG either one works fine with about the same amount of wind, the 8" might have a little less but really hard to tell, I went with the Fastaire, figured they were cheap enough to buy two and see which one I liked better, I have to look through the 8" going up and over hills more than the 6" but doesn't really bother me.
6'-1" and have 9" and it works great, don't think I would try lower than that for comfort. My Dad has the 10" LRS and he is 6'-4" he says it works as good or better than the stock shield on his ultra.
Tried out the 6" LRS Recurve but ended up getting one in 8" instead. I'm 5'11" with 30" inseam. The 6" although better then the stock 4" I was still getting a little to much wind for my taste so ended up with the 8" which for me worked much better.
Here's a pic of the 8" dark gray on the bike. You can see from the backing of the T-Bag pouch which is the same height of the stock 4" shield the difference in size.
Any one have trouble keeping their Long Ride Shield tight??? I can go about 5 miles and it gets so loose I can wobble it back and forth.
I then put the stock HD shield back in and no problem. Company sent me a replacement that I haven't tried yet but does anyone have any idea what the problem maybe. It seems like the Long Ride isn't thick enough to be captured tightly between the inner and outer fairing????
I'm 5' 5" on a good day and have the LRS shield on my Road King fairing. It may be not so expensive, but it seems to work as well as anything I've had on, no problems with it loosening up at all.

Thanx as always

Yes. This happened to me as well. The LRS are thinner but the issue is the brass piece on the inner fairing the screws go into. They need to be lined up just right with the holes on the outer fairing or what you described happens.
You may need to loosen the other outer fairing screws temporarily to get it to line up properly but after that it shouldn't happen again unless maybe you take the outer fairing off for some reason. I've probably had mine off 20 or so times in the last 1.5 years for one reason or the other but I'm always messin' with something.

Curious where you found that price. I have a 6" LRS and looking to go taller to the 8".
