Default Chrome front end/ inside fairing

i was thinking of tackling: Changing my inside fairing, chrome front forks, and front end lowering kit. My friend and i are pretty familiar with working on the bikes, but not to that extent. Is this a massive project or one that is better left to the proffessionals?

The inner fairing is an absolute joke, in a good way! The dealers want hundreds of dollars to do it and some try the scare tactics to make sure you don't try. Use the 'search' tool here to see much more on the swap. I wondered just how hard could this possibly be, it's only a damn fairing. This being the best Forum on the planet proved I was right. It was easy. Using a bit of common sense such as covering your paint, labeling the wiring you're not familiar with, and so on. You'll be fine. Buy the HD Service manual if you don't already have one. And since you'll have the fairing off anyway? Do the forks while you're in there.

Use the search feature here.
Buy the manual.
Take you time.
Use common sense.

Good luck!

This Job isn't what I would call hard, but it will take time....the easiest thing I have found to do is take a bunch of pics after you get the outer off this way you know the correct routing of the cables, and wiring ...pretty easy after that, the forks are not that bad , my left side was seized in the upper tree so I used a rubber strap wrench to turn it, and then it came right out.
