Angry TBW Grip Install FUBAR!!

So its a great day herer in NYC temps reach 70 and I ride to the locl dealer having an Open House 15% off sale and free lunch. I see a set of grips for my 08 Bagger and buy em . So I open the package and reading the instructions I punk out and have the dealer install em. I don't want to end up into the wall like the Toyota's stuck accelerator!!LOL
Dealer charges $35 to install. Riding home I nearly go down when the front brake locks up lucky I'm only going about 25mph and I'm about a mile from the dealer. Call em up tell em what happened and they're sending the flatbed for me. I happen to look and I notice that on the front brake leaver the tech put in a plastic shim so not as to blow the brake light switch! and he left it there so that caused the front brake to lock up. I call back and tell em forget the truck Ill ride over. I'm mad but hey what can ya do at least I didn't get hurt! Service mgr and tech come running out when I arrive to make sure I'm OK and the bike is good thy're apologizing and etc!! So I say to the tech so much for Test Riding a bike after working on it, he says we never test ride for a grip install! Unbelievable, maybe I should have put em on myself!! Instead of leaving the job to a professional Oh well ride safe, Bill.

For the next time... Grip install is easy! I did it on my '07 RK and the '10 SG the SG is a piece of cake with the electronic throttle.

Did you at least get your $35 back? Seems the least they can do for almost wrecking your bike.

Smile TBW Fubar

Nah I didn't ask I was thinking about it this is a dealer I get all my service done so I guess everyone has an off day.
I was concidering the install myself but when the instructions talked about "throttle grip sensor has a seal cap to protect from moisture, install one leg first then the other leg with the tip of a screwdriver" it sounded difficult like the cap would pop out, I just wimped out and let the "professionals" do the work! LOL
Ill install the next set I thing when I black out the bike! Thanks Bill t
