I have the Monster Ovals on my 2010 Street Glide, I like the sound. My husband has them on his as well. They are a deep sound and not as shrill as some can be which is nice as I typically ride behind him... I can hear my tunes without having to turn the volume up. :-) I like the look of them as well.
I don't care for the sound of the monster ovals, a little louder than stock.. I have the Rush 2 1/4 slipons(do it yourself) it's 1 band clamp and 2 mounting bolts per muffler(10 minutes to do) Check out the Rush muffler website. They do have sound clips for the different size baffles, I liked the 2 1/4 the best... Good luck with your search..
What's the difference between the baffle sizes? Why a 2 1/4 over a 1 1/2 or any other size? Is there a difference in sound or performance? I also see that you can get a slip on that acepts a tip, is there any difference
in sound between one that accepts a tip and one that doesn't? The tips look pretty cool, if I get these I think I'd like to go that way. I see that some of the tips have openings on the side, does this affect anything, or is it just for looks?

They sound nice, louder than the MO's right? Can you get these at Harley? Do they require a download?
I bolted mine on with everything else stock and did not have a problem with popping or tuning. However, to get the best performance,IMO, do the slip-ons, se a/c and a download from the dealer(to rich'n up the mixture) Yes, they are louder than MO with the larger baffles. But like others have said, the best thing to do is go to the dealer or a ride-in event and listed to the bikes to find the sound you like. Some of the dealers can/will get the rush mufflers for you, but they like to stick with SE parts. There are plenty of vendors on-line that you can order from. I ordered mine from somerset motorsports(out of business) $365.00 delivered w/o the end caps, those you can get from the dealer(muliple choices) Hope this helps...Good luck

I'm going to be a little funny on this reply.....Try to talk through a straw....Now try to talk through a paper towel tube.... That's the difference between the baffles, less restriction/more open-sounding exhaust note with the larger baffle. However, tuning problems can come into play with larger baffles. I didn't experience a problem with the 2 1/4's and I couldn't tell you the performance difference between the small and large baffles. The tips are decorative, I don't believe they change performance...
Monster Ovals by themselves may not be considered loud, but with true dual headers they are plenty loud for me.
The MO"S with the power duals and the 103 is plenty loud as well. that being said. If its just right at idle its going to be loud as hell going down the road and if you are on a trip it may get old. If you know what I mean.

Well, hope I did the right thing, but I just bought Python Predator(round) 3 1/2" slip ons and SE stage 1 AC, they'll be installed by the dealer with a download on the 19th of April when I bring the bike in for it's 1K service, couldn't get an appointment before then, heard them on Youtube and on the Pyhon website, sounded cool, wanted to try a slightly aggressive pipe for awhile, hope they fit the bill, they look nice! If anyone has them, how do you like 'em?
